Accurate High Country, the newest smokeless powder in the Accurate lineup, is the powder for reloading the 7mm Backcountry. It is also a true magnum rifle propellant that refuses to choose between versatility and raw performance, delivering both in a single canister. It is built on the latest propellant technology and it is made in the USA.
High Country is a double base spherical powder. The spherical grains flow smoothly through a powder measure, which means consistent charge weights and uniform velocities from your bench. A progressive burn rate curve keeps velocity high both at bullet exit and downrange, and the double base formulation delivers an energetic, clean burning load. Every lot is produced under an ISO 9001 certified quality system, so the consistency you see shot to shot carries over canister to canister
The powder's lower flame temperature is a critical part of that fit. Steel cases have a different heat sink than brass. High Country burns at a lower flame temperature than other magnum rifle powders, making it an ideal partner for both the case construction and the pressure this cartridge operates at. That lower flame temperature also means less energy converting to muzzle flash and muzzle blast.
High Country covers an impressive spread of magnum rifle applications. It is an excellent choice in proven cartridges like the .243 Winchester, .270 Winchester, and .300 Winchester Magnum. Pair it with Winchester bullets and primers, and your handloads can duplicate the performance of Winchester factory loaded ammunition. Its consistent metering and ignition characteristics translate directly into the accuracy these cartridges are known for.
Modern magnums are equally at home. This powder is ideal for the 6.5 PRC and .300 PRC. High Country throws remarkably consistent charge weights, which leads to uniform velocities and pressures. The progressive burning of the grain provides a softer ignition, and softer ignition supports greater accuracy.
