Hodgdon Perfect Pattern Smokeless Powder 8lb

Hodgdon Perfect Pattern is a fast-burning, flattened spherical shotshell powder designed for light and extra-light 12 gauge field and target loads. What is Perfect Pattern powder used for?

Clay target shooters who reload 12 gauge practice and competition shells use Perfect Pattern to keep recoil low through long days of trap, skeet, and sporting clays. Light field loads are another strong fit.

Its geometry and density give it superb metering, so charge weights stay consistent from shell to shell, and the low charge weights stretch each jug further.

Which components work with Perfect Pattern?

Perfect Pattern is formulated for the 12 gauge shotgun. Build loads from current Hodgdon shotshell data, which specifies the hull, primer, wad, and shot charge for each recipe, since substitutions change pressure. Pair it with 209 shotshell primers and hardened lead shot to complete your shotshell reloading supplies.

What does flattened spherical powder mean?

Perfect Pattern grains are spherical powder flattened into small discs. Hodgdon credits that geometry and the powder's density for its excellent ignition and superb metering, two traits shotshell reloaders depend on when loading by the hundreds.

Graf & Sons has roots in trapshooting going back to the 1960s, when the family hosted the second largest trap shoot in Missouri.
