Great in the past, last lot# bought not so much.

5-7 years ago I purchased 3000 of these 147XTPs for my 9 & 38Supers and was extremely happy with their quality. 1-2 weeks ago I ordered 3 more boxes to load some more rounds. The quality of the projectiles this time were not good. I had wild seating depth variances up to .032 from round to round loaded. Spent 2 days with Hornady tech support trying to figure out the issue. Looks like when they cut the serrations in the tip it caused diameter variations in the bullet tip were the seater plugs make contact.
Hornady issued a RMA for the boxes and is looking into what is causing this tip diameter variation in their manufacturing process of the lot number I purchased. Tech said they will try to replace with a different lot# after they investigate. Still think the 147XTPs are great, but something was off with this batch.

Best Bullet For My Astra 400

I love shooting these, they are accurate and easy to load!
I use 147 grain bullets in all my 9mm Largo loads. They are great in my Astra 400 as well as all my Largo 1911s. I will be buying these for many years to come!

Rebated base

The rebated base of these beautiful bullets prevent the long for caliber 147s from creating the unsightly bulge in tapered 9MM cases. My 147 grain loads look just like factory loads!

Works well in Ruger PC Carbine

Everyone said not to load 147's in a Ruger Carbine but mine worked flawlessly! We love Hornady Bullets and shoot them in every gun we own. Highly recommend!

Accurate, great for PCC 9MM subsonic loads

This bullet is very accurate in two Ruger PCCs, pushed to the upper end of of the subsonic range, and feeds reliably 100% from a number of Glock and clone mags.

It represents a good value - cost-effective premium bullet performance, and Graf's shipping policy/rate is a great fit for bullet purchases.

Review of Hornady 147 Grain 9mm Bullets

These are the most inherently accurate 9mm bullets on the market today. They are probably the most accurate 9mm bullets ever made. Three reasons for their accuracy: (1) Boat Tail design, (2) Shape and Weight, (3) Hornady Quality and Consistency. From the bench, fully supported, 8 inch barrel, 3x optic, and 4.5 pound trigger, they will consistently shoot at least 3 inch, 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Best groups are 1.5 inches. I have shot many different types of 9mm bullets with many different load combinations, and none of them come close to this type of consistent accuracy. What is critical for this bullet is to keep the velocity very close to 950 ft/sec. Not 900 ft/sec, not 1000 ft/sec; 950 ft/sec.

Good quality at great price

You can’t go wrong with Hornady. Even though their hollow point pistol bullets don’t mushroom out as big as other top brands but they are adequate, consistent and accurate.

Great bullet

Quality is awesome. Weight is consistent. These are the easiest loading projos around. With the bevelled base they load so we'll that it is crazy. Can't speak about expansion but they are accurate as heck. I use over Vihtavouri N105 for a low pressure pleasant shooting bullet. Get some!
