Lets you make precise adjustments of all standard 7/8-14 dies and accessories. Lock ring clamps around the whole die. Can't damage the threads. Applies constant pressure across the threads to hold the ring in place. Most other die rings lock by jamming a set screw directly into the threads. Has wrench flats to remove and replace dies without pliers ruining the lock ring.

Work Fantastic

Love these clamp style lock rings over the lead ball/set screw kind that come on RCBS & Redding dies. In fact, I love them so much, I've started switching out the Redding lock rings for these from Hornady.

Hornady Die lock rings

I love the way they lock down and you can set and forget...In my opinion the best to go with lock and load bushings....

Save the threads!

Been reloading for close to 60 years. Finally decided to change the lock rings on several of my die sets, I was tired to fighting the old lock rings with the set screw impinging on the threads. Granted, once set. it should be good, but if your changing shell holders to get that extra bump, it's a real pain to make the adjustment with the set screw messing with the thread on the die body. I find these Rings to be just the ticket!

Hornady 7/8 steel lock ring

I like these because there is no contact between the set screw and the die threads . can be a little difficult to work with on a turret press . . Outstanding product.

Much improved

These die rings are so much better than the standard ones that use a grub screw to hold the ring in position. If there is any drawback, it is very minor in that when the die is positioned exactly and then the lock ring is tightened down onto the press, tightening the ring around the die, will lead to a slight difference in the die position. For nearly every step in the reloading process it is virtually not measurable, but when seating bullets, it does alter the seat die depth, and you have to reset the seat plug, but only the first time it is installed.

Perfect Shape

I use the Hornady Lock-n-Load with an adapter in my Rock Chucker press. These rings lock the die tightly in the Lock-n-Load, making it easy to "Set and Forget". The shape makes it easy to back the die out of the Lock-n-Load if ever necessary. Not really a negative, but I find myself purchasing multiple seating dies - one for each bullet profile.

Best rings for dies

I only use the Hornady split rings for all of my dies. They are steel and that is what I like about them. I just leave the rings on my resize dies when I sonic clean them and I never have to reset the dies when I use them again.

"Quality at it's Best"

These lock rings will not damage your die threads like some due. No set screw will ever touch your die threads. These rings hold securely in place and will remain strong and true. You can't get a better lock ring!

Hornady steel Die Lock-Rings [6 pack]

Bought these to replace all my Lee aluminum lock rings. They don't slip, which is the whole point of lock rings.

The best

These are the only way to go, especially for expensive dies. Don't damage threads, easy to tighten, and much easier to remove. Have these on all my dies.

hornday lock ring

These are the only style of lock ring that I use. I been reloading for 40 years and tried them all and these are the only rings that do not slip and will not move and the only one that I will use.

HORNADY DIE LOCK RING 7/8x14 SURE-LOC STEEL 6/PACK

Best die lock ring on the market. The only ones that compare are much more money. Works best with Hornady's Deluxe Die Wrench (HRN396495). I'd give them 6 stars if I could.

Just what I needed

These are great to replace the rubber O-Ring Lee die rings and others that use a brass screw to 'bite' into the threads on the die body

Perfect for die placement

I picked these up to finish off my Redding T-7 press. They work great as they don't bite into the die threads, and hold the die from walking.

Great idea

As a new reloader (10 months), I still obsess about making sure I'm doing things right. These rings - while expensive - give me one less thing to worry about. Set it once and forget it. I'm steadily buying more and more to put one on every die I own (4 for each pistol die set and 3 each for each rifle die set).

Great item, just wish they weren't so blooming expensive!
