Lee 357 taper crimp

I’ve been loading a lot of coated bullets without crimp grooves and was worried the roll crimp might be damaging the coating. This crimp die has proven to hold the bullets steady in heavy recoiling loads and no issue with the bullet coating.

Does what it is supposed to do

It does a taper crimp for a cartridge where one normally roll-crimps. Most crimp dies for 357/38 are roll crimpers. If you are using a bullet design without a crimp groove in a revolver this die is almost a necessity. Be careful to adjust it so that it doesn't swage down soft cast bullets.
