The "Hollow Base" in the base of the bullet allows us to make a longer profile without adding weight. For example if we were to hollow base a 230gr .45 ACP bullet, it now weighs 185gr.. The longer profile gives more "Bearing Surface" on the bullet, which helps a pistol barrel stabilize the bullet. These bullets are very accurate, even at low to mid-range velocities.

This is not loaded ammunition.

Berry's..(452) 185 grain hollow base round nose

From a Springfield 1911 A1 this bullet is accurate shooting a 7 shot group of 2.5 to 3 inches at 25 yards. I didn't find it as accurate as berry's 185 gr hybrid hollow point, but with a full charge of Unique they shoot better than fmj factory loads.
They sure don't blow up milk jugs full of water like berry's 185 hybrid hollow point does. Their hollow points are too much fun!
Neither of the 185 gr berry's bullets leaded my barrel in the slightest bit either.

Berry's Bullets are great quality bullets. No blems, beautiful finish. My favorite is the 185gr. 45acp hollow base bullet. I'm able to shoot accurately without the usual muzzle flip as with military ball ammo. I would recommend to bullet to all my friends who reload.

I use these bullets in my WW1 vintage S&W US Army Model 1917 with great success. Absolutely no leading in a slightly pitted bore. A totally awesome product.
