Hornady Primer Pocket Cleaner Large Kit

This is a great cleaner having tried full handled ones and the smaller two ended versions. Just the right size and shape for my hands, handle is aluminum so its nice and light. The only gripe would be that, like another reviewer pointed out, that since the primer flash hole is punched toward the case mouth from the pocket side during case manufacture, the bottom of the pocket never comes clean...This is of course true with all primer pocket cleaners. This one is also more aggressive than the blade type cleaners if you use nasty primers. I plan on ordering the other size soon.

I'm very pleased with this pocket cleaner's ability to clean the outer edges on the pocket all the way to the wall of the pocket. This cleaner has sharp edges all the way to it's outer edges, unlike other cleaners. It also does an excellent job cleaning the center circle. However, it's one limit, and EVERY pocket cleaner has this problem, is that it doesn't do a complete job of cleaning around the center hole. This is because the bottom of the cleaner is flat and the pressure of the primer going off tends to bell the center of the pocket outwards. Even wire brushes, at least the ones I've seen, won't clean the very center and also have a hard time cleaning the outer edges next to the pocket walls. This is the one limitation I mention in my title. Other than that, I'd give it an easy 5 stars. A few twists of the wrist and the dirtiest pocket is clean - except for the very center of the hole.
