The Lee Factory Crimp die crimps the bullet in place more firmly than any other tool. It is impossible to buckle the case as with regular roll crimp dies. Trim length is not critical.

Crimp Die for 44-40

The Lee 44-40 crimp die provides an excellent crimp on the thin 44-40 brass. I mostly load old style lead bullets that do not have a cannelure. The Lee crimp die solves the crimp problems on these type bullets.

Use the Lee die for alll my crimping

I use Lee factory crimp dies for all my calibers that I reload for, rifle and pistol. Gives me much more control by crimping in a separate step. The .44-40 die was perfect for this caliber.

Lee 44-40 Crimp die

These are the only way to crimp the 44-40.Grafs was only place I found it and cheapest.Now if they would carry some 50-70 .515 450 gr bullets.
