Lee mold blocks are made from aluminum because of the exceptional
molding qualities. The mold cavities are lathe bored for unmatched
roundness and size control. The Lee Drive Key slug is loaded in a
standard trap hull with standard wad and conventional folded crimp. The
exclusive drive key positively rotates the slug in rifled shotgun
barrels. The key doubles as a support rib allowing the use of a
standard trap wad. Mold feature self-centering automatic core pins for
maximum speed and convenience. Mold includes sprue plate, handles,
complete instructions and suggested loads.

1 oz Key Slug Mold - Standard Lee Quality

This has joined the other Lee molds in my inventory. Take a little time and clean the mold removing any oil prior to first use. Treat it according to directions (I use graphite spray) and pre-heat it. Perfect slugs right from the start! Lee makes good stuff for decent prices.

Lee 1 oz. slug mould ease of use

I followed the instructions supplied with the mold to prepare it before casting any slugs. I had soft lead to work with as per the instructions. I cast about 75 slugs on my first go with this mold. The first 30 were not impressive but finally the mold was broken in enough and I was able to cast clean smooth slugs every time. Patience is always needed when breaking in a new mold. I am not disappointed. The self centering automatic core pin worked flawlessly and I had no slug release problems. Lee has provided another fine affordable product .
