Starline Brass has recently added the 22 ARC to the growing lineup of high-quality brass. Starline’s 22 ARC brass is produced with the same demanding quality control standards that Starline has become known for and is available for much less than the price of comparable quality cases.
The 22 ARC is essentially a 6.5 Grendel that has been necked down to accept 22 caliber bullets to utilize the high BC, heavy for caliber bullets in .224” diameter, as well as being able to push the lighter .224” bullets faster than the .223 Rem. This gives you a versatile cartridge for either long range target shooting or varmint hunting that works well in both bolt action and AR platform rifles.
NOTE: In firearms that use a floating firing pin (such as the AR-15 and its variants), dropping the bolt on a chambered round could lead to a slam fire. It is important that these firearms are loaded from the magazine so that the bolt loses inertia when it strips a round from the magazine. It is also important NOT to use sensitive primers that aren’t designed for use in an AR, as this increases the chance of a slam fire.
